Train Derails After Colliding With Semi At Denison Crossing

Cleanup is underway in Denison after a collision with a semi-tractor trailer caused a train derailment Thursday afternoon. According to a Union Pacific spokesperson, the engine collided with a flat-bed trailer in the crossing near the S. Main Street and 7th Avenue intersection at approximately 1:30 p.m. The locomotive and multiple cars left the rails following the crash, completely blocking the nearby tracks. Union Pacific crews are on scene working to clear the debris, but officials were unable to estimate how long it will take before the lines are operational again. Two members of the Union Pacific train crew and the semi-driver were transported to Crawford County Memorial Hospital by Crawford County Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you additional details as they become available.
