Doris Ruth Burdine, age 100, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Addington Place in Carroll.
Funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Pastor Chaun Bergmeier of Pleasant Ridge Church officiating. Music for the service will be by Joan Bundt. Casket bearers will be grandsons Bruce McLaughlin, Andy McLaughlin, Matt Hatfield, Reed Burdine, Rick Burdine, and Nick Burdine. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 1 – 2 P.M. on Thursday prior to the service.

Doris was born on November 28, 1921 on her family’s farm north of Ralston, and she was the daughter of Ora and Mable (Jay) Dobson. She attended country school as a girl and graduated from Glidden High School in 1939. Doris was married to Wilbur H. Burdine on September 7, 1940 at the First Presbyterian Church in Glidden. Doris was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Community Church south of Glidden for many years where she taught Sunday school. She was also a member of the OMS International, the Gideons, and she served on the board of directors for the Raccoon River Bible Camp.
Doris is survived by her children and their families: son Ron Burdine (Jane) of Glidden; daughter Geraldine O’Brien (Dennis) of Ellicott City, MD, son Lowell Burdine (Shirley) of Portland, OR, and daughter Jean McLaughlin (Greg) of Maricopa, AZ; ten grandchildren; twenty three great-great grandchildren; three great great-grandson; and two great great great-grandsons.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents Ora and Mable Dobson; her father and mother-in-law William and Augusta Burdine; two sisters: Viola and Esther; five brothers: Elmer, Roy, Paul, Vern, and Earl; and her husband Wilbur in 2007.
