Only minor injuries were reported in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highways 71 and 141 Monday afternoon near Templeton. According to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at approximately 4:31 p.m. The initial investigation shows a 2022 Toyota Camry, driven by 22-year-old Mikhaila Jo Barnett of Adair, was traveling westbound and failed to notice the four-way intersection. She proceeded without stopping or slowing and collided with the front driver’s side of a southbound 2018 Hyundai Sante Fe, operated by 52-year-old Karen Lynn Gordon of Harlan. Gordon reported possible minor injuries and was transported for treatment by private vehicle. Damage to the cars was estimated at $15,000 each. Barnett was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and failure to yield the right of way.
