SARH And Six Other Western Iowa Hospitals Send Medical Supplies To Ukraine

Seven western Iowa medical centers recently shipped 12 pallets of medical supplies to Ukraine in response to a severe shortage caused by Russia’s invasion of the sovereign nation. St. Anthony staff collected IV solution, needles, wound dressings, splints, sutures, pharmaceuticals, and other equipment no longer being used by the hospital. St. Anthony President and CEO, Ed Smith, says, “Our employees rallied to gather the materials quickly, as the Ukrainian citizens are in desperate need of the supplies. We are humbled to support them.” Employees then delivered the materials to Audubon County Memorial Hospital. Equipment from both facilities was then transported to Red Oak to be shipped to eastern Europe. Other hospitals involved in the effort include Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Cass Health, Myrtue Medical Center, Shenandoah Medical Center, and Spencer Hospital.
