After two years of adapting the Carroll County Relay for Life to the pandemic, organizers are excited to host an event that supporters had grown to expect before COVID. Relay Co-Chair, Austin Scott, says 2022’s event is all about getting back to normal.
Wednesday’s kickoff will begin with a 30-minute social at the Carrollton Inn, followed by presentations from the Relay committees on what is coming up as teams prepare for this summer’s event. Scott says attendees will also hear from a special guest speaker, Tony Miller.
Historically, Carroll County has been one of the top fundraisers per capita for the American Cancer Society, but that enthusiasm for the Relay waned somewhat with the onset of the pandemic. Scott says they plan to bring that energy back in 2022.
Money raised during the Carroll County Relay for Life goes directly to the American Cancer Society to fund cancer treatment research, educational programs, and patient support programs. Relayers, cancer patients, survivors, and their families are invited to Wednesday’s kickoff at the Carrollton Inn.
