Glen Sievers of Des Moines, formerly of Carroll

Glen Joseph Sievers, 57, passed away March 18, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Iles Westover Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Thursday, March 24 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.
Glen was born on June 15, 1964 in Carroll, Iowa to parents, Lenus and Agnes (Koster) Sievers. He graduated from Carroll Kuemper High School and received his associate degree from Des Moines Area Community College. He worked as a mechanic for Granger Motors and for the last 22 years, he worked as a maintenance manager for PDI in Ankeny.
In 1990 he was united in marriage to Beth Anderson. They made their home in Urbandale, where they raised their son, Jonathan.
Glen was an avid baseball fan, player and umpire. He played high school baseball and slow pitch softball, where he was the home run king. He umpired for the Urbandale Little League for over 20 years.
His second hobby was working on cars for his family, friends and neighbors. His favorite car was his 1975 Ford Thunderbird, Jade Luxury Edition. He was mechanically inclined and always willing to lend a helping hand, he could fix just about anything.
Glen loved his family and never met a stranger. He recently began camping and was thrilled that his camper and truck matched. He started to enjoy fishing, campfires and finally had his first Smores last year. He enjoyed joking around and telling stories.
Glen is survived by his wife, Beth; son, Jonathan and fiancé Kristen Sims; siblings, Karen Hazelton, Ronald (Mary) Sievers, Nancy (David) Georgi, Marlene (Loras) Hoffmann, Janice (Mike) Huisenga, Dale (Deb) Sievers and John (Cheryl) Sievers; step-mother, Wilma Sievers; in laws, Dean Anderson, Tom (Connie) Anderson, Lori (Bob) Westcott as well as many nieces, nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister-in-law, Jerome (Colleen) Sievers.
