The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education held their last meeting in March last night in the Adams Elementary boardroom. One of the main topics on the agenda was the Carroll Education Support Association (CESA) opening proposal. Iowa State Education Association Uniserv Director, Todd Louwagie, gave CESA’S opening proposal. He says they have four main goals to reach in negotiations with the board. He notes that the average bus driver in the conference is making $25.74, and the Carroll average is $19.22. Louwagie says they are asking for an average wage increase of one dollar.
After CESA presented their proposal, the board gave their initial offer. Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau outlines the boards opening proposal.
The board and CESA will discuss both proposals behind closed doors and an agreement will be reached and voted on at a later date. The next school board meeting is scheduled for April 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Adams Elementary boardroom.
