Friday, March 25 was the filing deadline for candidates interested in running for countywide offices in the upcoming November elections. Only one of the several local seats to appear on that ballot will be contested. That is for the District 2 Carroll County Board of Supervisors seat, currently held by Democrat, Dean Schettler. Schettler is being challenged by Republican, Michael J. Andersen of Breda, for his spot on the board. The other positions on the ballot for later this year in Carroll County are Treasurer, Recorder, Attorney, and District 4 Supervisor, but only the incumbents have filed to run. Candidates have until Wednesday, March 30 to withdraw their names from consideration. A list of the uncontested incumbents can be found included below.
