Marjorie Ann Golay, age 86, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 4, 2022 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church – St. John Paul II Parish in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Schott as Celebrant. Gift bearers will be Vicky Tigges and Annie Dentlinger. Casket bearers will be Lonnie Miller, Chris Hay, Skyler Hay, Justin Potthoff, Bradley Vonnahme, and Joel Tigges. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry.
Visitation will be held at the St. Lawrence Church on Monday from 9:30 – 10:15 A.M. prior to the Mass.

Marjorie was born on September 30, 1935 in Coon Rapids, IA, and she was the daughter of George and Gertrude (Brauckman) Frank. She grew up in Coon Rapids where she graduated from high school. Marjorie was united in marriage to William Golay on August 11, 1954 in Coon Rapids. She obtained her LPN nursing degree from Des Moines Area Community College in Boone in 1971. She worked at the nursing home in Perry for several years. After her husband’s passing she moved to Nashville, TN to live with her son Bill. During that time she met many famous country musicians and invited some to dinner. When her son Bill passed, Marjorie moved to Carroll. She enjoyed collecting angels and Dachshund items. Marjorie adored her dog Sammie.
Marjorie is survived by her sister Rosemary; her beloved dog Sammie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Gertrude Frank; her husband Bill; sons Bill and Wes; brothers: Jerome, George, Kenneth, Harold, and Wilson; sisters: Delores, Clead, and Marion, and Arlene, and other extended family members.
