Coon Rapids Man Accused Of Oct. Assault On Peace Officer Sentenced To 10 Days In Carroll County Jail

A Coon Rapids man accused of attacking law enforcement and damaging a squad car during an incident last fall has been ordered to serve 10 days in the Carroll County jail. According to court records filed last week, 29-year-old Joshua Alexander Greene was arrested by the Coon Rapids Police Department on Oct. 7 after he pushed, threatened, and threw a flashlight at an officer during an interaction. This altercation resulted in damage to the officer’s vehicle, and Greene was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, and assault on a peace officer, a serious misdemeanor. Greene pled guilty to both charges and was ordered to pay nearly $5,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs, and restitution. A five-year prison sentence for the criminal mischief charge and all but 10 days of a 60-day jail sentence were suspended. Greene was placed on probation for three years to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services.
