Throughout April, the Family Resource Center is partnering with several Iowa food vendors to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month. Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Family Resource Center’s offices at 502 W. 7th Street in Carroll for the next four Thursdays. Hy-Vee is on the schedule for tomorrow (Thursday) and is serving hotdogs, hamburgers, chips, and a drink for just $8, the Feed Shed on April 28 with their barbecue selection, Forky’s Food Truck on April 21 with Philly cheesesteaks and fries, and Weenie Wonderland and Smokehouse is slated for April 28. If weather permits, the Family Resource Center will have tables and chairs set up in their parking lot. Money raised will benefit FRC’s Crisis Care and Parent Timeout programs, which offer parents or guardians short-term childcare when they may need a break.
