The St. Anthony Hospital Auxiliary recently celebrated its many members and volunteers for their generous contribution of time, talent, and treasure to benefit the hospital and the patients it serves. The Auxiliary hosted its annual Spring Awards Banquet on Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church and recognized their 2021 Volunteer of the Year, Linda Wernimont. Wernimont was selected for her many hours of service at the atrium coffee shop and serving as the Auxiliary co-president. Two members, Mary Swanson and Diane Hannasch, were also recognized for reaching the 25-year milestone of volunteering with the Auxiliary. St. Anthony President and CEO, Ed Smith, says, “We want to thank each volunteer for their service to St. Anthony and our community. As I retire this year, I’m going to miss being here with you during your Awards Luncheon. It takes a team to keep the hospital in order, and you are a big part of it.” Over the last three decades, the Auxiliary has donated over $890,000 to hospital projects and renovations, provides other materials, such as equipment, toys, or supplies throughout the hospital, and provides funding for the Auxiliary scholarship programs. In 2021, the Auxiliary had 353 members who donated over 23,000 hours of volunteer time. A full list of members recognized during Wednesday’s award luncheon can be found included below.
