All 36 western Iowa counties will be participating in an event to help promote tourism in their part of the state. Audubon County Economic Development helped start the event, which had over one million interactions on social media last year. Sara Slater, an Ex-Officio with Audubon County Economic Development, details who they work with and how the event started.
The T-bone Trail, Western Iowa event runs from Friday, April 22 to Thursday, July 5 and will be in multiple counties in the listing area. Slater adds what will take place in each of the counties.
Some new additions to this year’s event will be added, such as an additional beef restaurant and unique retail stores. Slater says there will be a bingo card for individuals who want to follow along, and prizes will be awarded for turning in the card. She says details on the cards are not finalized yet and adds where participants can pick them up.
The Iowa Gallivant will be in Calhoun County June 18, Sac June 21, Crawford June 25, Carroll June 28, and Audubon June 30. For more information about the event or where to pick up bingo cards, contact Audubon County Economic Development at 712-563-2742.
