A New Jersey man was taken into custody Tuesday evening at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson after allegedly assaulting a pit boss. The Jefferson Police Department responded to 777 Wild Rose Lane at approximately 9:19 p.m., immediately following the incident. Their investigation found 49-year-old Oliver W. Peyton of Newark, N.J. had attacked the casino employee after a dispute became physical. Law enforcement transported Peyton to the Greene County Law Enforcement Center, where he was charged with assault, a serious misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct and public intoxication, simple misdemeanors.
