St. Anthony Regional Hospital Announces New President And CEO, Allen Anderson

St. Anthony Regional Hospital announced this (Wednesday) morning who will be the organization’s new CEO and President. Allen Anderson of Montevideo, Minn. will take over leadership of the organization following the retirement of longtime CEO and President, Ed Smith, later this summer. Before joining St. Anthony, Anderson served as the CEO and Administrator of Avera Tyler Hospital in Tyler, Minn. Avera is a Christian health care ministry with locations in South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Iowa. He previously worked as the Vice President of Support Services/Operations for Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor in Granite Falls, Minn. and Human Resources Director and Interim CEO at Madison Healthcare Services in Madison, Minn. Anderson earned his undergraduate degree in business administration from Globe College at the Minnesota School of Business and holds an MBA with an emphasis on healthcare from Minnesota State University—Moorhead. St. Anthony Board of Directors Chairman, Nick Badding, says, “Over the last several months, a nationwide search was conducted to identify candidates for the next President and CEO of St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Talented and qualified candidates from across the United States expressed interest in the position, which led to an intensive interview process. On behalf of the selection committee, we are proud to have Allen Anderson serve as the next President and CEO. His enthusiasm and innovative ideas will greatly benefit St. Anthony.” Anderson says, “I am honored to accept the position as the President and CEO of St. Anthony Regional Hospital and am looking forward to working closely with employees, providers, and leaders to continue upholding the mission of providing quality care for our patients and communities. St. Anthony Regional Hospital is a healthcare leader, and it’s an honor to join such an outstanding organization.” Smith will continue to serve as CEO until July 1 and assist with the leadership transition.
