The Carroll Public Library invites readers and aspiring writers to join them tomorrow (Thursday) evening for a seminar with published author, Maggie Rivers. The program begins at 6 p.m. at the library and features Rivers describing her start as a writer, what it took to get her work published, and her advice on having your creations put in print. Rivers is a Vietnam-era Air Force veteran and is one of three Stiletto Anthology authors: Rivers, C. Deanne Rowe, and Glenna West. Rivers also taught creative writing classes at Des Moines Public Schools through their community education program and to incarcerated Iowans in the state’s prison system. There is no need to register for Thursday’s seminar. Again, the program begins at 6 p.m. at the Carroll Public Library.
