Lake City Council Currently Over Budget On The Community Building

The Lake City Council discussed the Community Building at their meeting on Monday night. City Administrator, Eric Wood, says the building does not have a lot of paid events scheduled this year, and because of that, they are over budget. He adds that by June 30, the Community Building could have about a $100,000 deficit, and he is putting together a budget to present to the council.

Wood says he brought this up to give the council an idea of what the budget amendment will look like. The current Fiscal Year we are in is 2021-22, ending June 30. Wood adds that there are eight areas in a budget they cannot overspend, and the community building is a part of one of them.

According to Wood they are currently over budget by $75,000, and look to make the money up by using a deficit for General Fund Expenditures along with General Options Sales Tax. The next Lake City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 2, at 6:00 p.m. in the council chambers.
