The Glidden City Council Has made Changes to Their Parks And Rec Board

The Glidden City Council met last night to discuss changing ordinances regarding the Parks and Recreation Board. City Administrator, Brooke Peterson, says the council decided to expand the board by one or two members who reside outside the city limits but are still within the school district.

She adds they also changed a requirement to make the Parks and Rec Board attend 50 percent of sponsored events.

Peterson states they also want to add a waiting list so that when a term is up, other people can join before they renew a board member.

Peterson adds that being on the board requires you to be at many events throughout the year and bring new ideas to the town.

Individuals interested in joining the board can contact Glidden City Hall at 712-659-3010 and ask for Mike, who is the Park and Recreation Director. The next Glidden City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 9, at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers.
