Iowa Gas Prices Hold Steady While Diesel Climbs Six Cents From Last Week

According to the Iowa Department of Agriculture and AAA-Iowa, fuel prices held relatively stable over the past week despite declines in the oil market. As of Wednesday, April 27, the price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was unchanged from last week, averaging $3.86. A year ago, fuel prices in the state averaged $2.80 per gallon. The current national average stands at $4.13 per gallon, up two cents from last week. Diesel prices in Iowa climbed six cents to a statewide average of $4.86 per gallon, which is 23 cents below the national average of $5.09 per gallon. Just 12 months ago, diesel in Iowa averaged $3.01 per gallon. Wholesale ethanol was unchanged at $2.16 per gallon, while natural gas prices were up 39 cents at the Henry Hub reporting site to $7.36 per MMBtu.
