MRHC, Manning PD, And Iowa Small Engine Partner For May 5 Bike Rodeo

With the end of the school year in sight, kids will be taking to the streets on their bikes and scooters to enjoy their summer breaks. Manning Regional Healthcare Center (MRHC) is partnering with the Manning Police Department, City of Manning, and Iowa Small Engine and Bike Shop to ensure children stay safe while having fun. On Thursday, May 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., organizers will have five stations set up in the MRHC parking lot to teach participants the basics of bike safety. These stations include inspections by Iowa Small Engine and Bike Shop owner, Chad Onken, demonstrations of proper use of turn signals, and bike safety instruction. Participants will be treated to snacks, games, and a complimentary children’s helmet. The Bike Safety Rodeo is free to attend, but parents and guardians are asked to register in advance using the link included with this story on our website to ensure kids receive the proper size. For more information or questions, contact MRHC Education Coordinator, Julie Hodne, at 712-655-8179.
