Iowa high school students interested in attending one of the five U.S. Service Academies and their families are invited to attend upcoming virtual open houses hosted by Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst. From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 2 and Tuesday, May 3, the senators’ nomination coordinators will provide an overview of the requirements for prospective students and answer any questions attendees might have. Representatives from the Air Force Academy and Naval Academy will present on academy life and expectations during the May 2 presentation. The Military Academy at West Point, Coast Guard Academy, and Merchant Marine Academy are slated for May 3. Grassley and Ernst select 10 individuals to nominate to the U.S. Service Academy each year.
