38th Annual Friends OF Kuemper Ball Raises Over $700,000

The 38th annual Friends of Kuemper Ball was held this past weekend and surpassed the $700,000 mark by the night’s end. Doors opened at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Kuemper Fieldhouse, and the presentation started shortly after 7:30 p.m. The ag raffle for a $10,000 voucher, sponsored by Van Wall, Rueter’s Red Power, and Haley Equipment, was awarded to Jason and Mallory Soyer. The winner of the vehicle raffle for a $25,000 voucher to Wittrock Motor Company, Team Auto, Champion Ford, New Way Ford, Macke Motors, and Motor Inn was Curtis Rickers. Generally, the ball co-chairs announce the year’s total following the raffle presentations, but they decided to take a different route in 2022.

The preliminary number raised was $614,753, but that figure climbed to over $700,000 following the auction. A generous matching donation from Kuemper alums, Patty and Brian Hannasch, supplemented this number. They matched all contributions over the initial $600,000 ball goal. Ball Co-Chair, Curt Snyder, says the year-after-year support seen during the Friends of Kuemper Ball is critical for the parochial school to maintain quality Catholic education in the area.

The Friends of Kuemper Ball has raised nearly $12 million in the nearly four decades since its creation. While the ball may be over, it is not too late to support the Kuemper Catholic School System. Donations are still being accepted through the school’s website, and a link to that page can be found included with this story online.
