Memorial Day marks the unofficial beginning of summer, but the Carroll Chamber of Commerce is kicking the season off a few days earlier with their first Live + Local concert of 2022. The Chamber introduced Live + Local last year, and Business Development Director, Roseanne Nees, says attendance and support from the community were outstanding.
Building off last summer’s success, Beth Glynn, a member of the event’s organizational committee, says the Chamber is excited to have Live + Local back bigger and better than ever.
The July 21 Live + Local is the only date that does not fall on the last Thursday of each month. Organizers decided to move the event up a week to coincide with the popular Chamber Ridiculous Days. The concerts are laidback and family-friendly, but Nees says they do have a few rules they ask attendees to follow.
This Thursday is the first of five concerts planned for this summer. The other scheduled dates for Live + Local are June 30, July 21, Aug. 25, and Sept. 29. Event t-shirts are also available now for $20 at the Chamber depot on W. 5th Street. A quick reminder that Adams Street in downtown is closing at noon before the concert start time of 6 p.m. to allow set-up time for the stage, equipment, and food vendors.
