Carroll SuperDraft Raises Over $20,000 In Its Second Year

In just its second year the Carroll SuperDraft was able to surpass another major fundraising milestone with over $20,000 raised to support patients and their families at the St. Anthony Cancer Center. Last year’s event raised over $10,000, and one of the draft-style softball tournament’s organizers, Katie Decker, says they had to double and triple check the 2022 figures after the calculations were finished.

The 2022 SuperDraft was organized by Tad and Katie Decker, Kyle and Katie Cornelius, and Nicole and Colby McCarville with help from a large group of volunteers. About half of the the funds are raised through player registration fees, with the other half coming from silent auction items and concession stand revenues. Decker says the committee is already starting to look at how they can expand SuperDraft, but it is largely an issue of space.

And bigger is the goal, as all the money they raise directly improves the lives of patients and their families.

So the more they are able to raise, the more patients they are able to help. The softball SuperDraft has turned into such a popular event so quickly that Decker says they are exploring plans to bring the draft-style fun to other events, but they are not quite ready yet to announce anything.
