Robert Paeper of Westside

Robert Lee Paeper was born on May 16, 1947 to Arlo and Lucille (Burk) Paeper in Newell, Iowa. He was baptized and later confirmed into the Catholic faith. Bob graduated from Westside High School with the class of 1965. He attended Pershing College in Beatrice, Nebraska and Omaha University in Omaha, Nebraska. Bob enlisted in the Nebraska National Guard and honorably served for six years.
Bob was united in marriage to Kathy Tvedt on April 28, 1973 at St. John Catholic Church in Omaha. The couple made their home in Omaha until 1998 when they relocated to Westside, Iowa. Bob’s career was in the grocery business working for United A.G. in Omaha and Farner-Bocken in Carroll, until he retired.
Bob was a family first kind of man. He coached his sons in sports year-round. He loved sports, especially fishing and golfing. He rooted for the Kansas City Royals and Nebraska Cornhuskers. He enjoyed cooking and he looked forward to a cup of coffee with the neighbors. Bob and Kathy cherished their vacations in Florida during the winter months.
Bob passed away at home on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the age of 75 years and 17 days.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Paeper; and brother-in-law, Bill Jones. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kathy Paeper of Westside; sons: Brandon Paeper, Brian Paeper, and Michael Paeper and his fiancée, Ashley Sandel all of Omaha, Nebraska; siblings: Bruce Paeper and his wife, Mary of Pender, Nebraska and Candace Paeper-Stone and her husband, Kirk Stone of Franklin, Tennessee; siblings-in-law, Marianne Jones of Yorkville, Illinois, Bernard Tvedt and his wife, Theresa of Danvers, Minnesota, Osten Tvedt of Montevideo, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.
   Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Vail, Iowa. Fr. Michael Cronin served as Celebrant and Fr. Shinoj Jose served as Concelbrant of the Mass. Irene Feilmeier provided accompaniment for the St. Ann Family Choir who sang “On Eagle’s Wings,” “Take My Hand, Precious Lord,” “One Bread, One Body” and “How Great Thou Art” and Sherri Freml provided accompanimnet for soloist Noah Fredericksen who sang “Ave Maria.”Luke and Colin Schulte served as mass servers, Mike Schulte and Linda Greve served as lectors, and Julie McCormick and Susan Thanephon served as gift bearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Bob’s beloved coffee group. Serving as pallbearers were Dave Fineran, Al Greve, Steve Riesselman, Mark Schwery, Leon Schulte, Travis Feilmeier, Sid Leise and Steven Muhlbauer. Interment was in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery and Military Honors were members of the Alfred Rossman American Legion Post 196 and Iowa Army National Guard Honor Guard. Following the committal service, the family invited everyone to return to the church for a time of fellowship and lunch. The Huebner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
