The Greene County Board of Supervisors has approved a request from County Auditor Jane Huen to complete an administrative recount of ballots collected from two precincts during the June 7 primary. According to Huen, ballot machines in the East and Central Precincts experienced issues with a paper jam, resulting in the counts reading one number higher than the number of voters who signed a declaration of eligibility. To ensure the accuracy of the count and at the recommendation of Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, Huen requested a recount of the Central and East Precincts’ ballots, which was unanimously approved during a special meeting of the Greene County Board of Supervisors Thursday afternoon.
