10-Squared Women Of Guthrie County Donation Helps Bring Imagination Library Program To More Children

The 10-Squared Women of Guthrie County announced earlier this week that the Guthrie Our Community Health Foundation and Imagination Library has been selected for the organization’s second-quarter donation. The recently formed 501(c)3 is part of Guthrie County Health Services created to provide opportunities to children through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Guthrie’s Imagination Library Program launched in February and provides children registered for the program with a high-quality, age-appropriate book at no cost every month. It was originally limited to students within the Panorama Community School District, but with the 10-Squared Women’s recent $11,000 donation, organizers are hopeful they will soon be able to expand the program to all of Guthrie County. Guthrie County Public Health Executive Director Jotham Arber says, “We know education, literacy and health outcomes in a community are intertwined, so investing in a child’s literacy is investing in a healthier child and, ultimately, a healthier community. Our kids are the future of our communities. The more we can do for our children’s literacy, the healthier and brighter our future will be. The support from 10-Squared Women allows us to expand and reach more Guthrie County children.” Families with children under five years of age can register for the Imagination Library Program by visiting www.OurCommunitiesHealthFoundation.org or by calling Guthrie County Health Services directly at 641-747-3972. Since its founding in 2017, the 10-Squared Women of Guthrie County have donated nearly $240,000 to dozens of local organizations and initiatives.
