Lyle Stork of Glidden

Lyle Neil Stork, age 60, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at his home north of Glidden.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden with Fr. Kevin Richter as Celebrant. Music for the Mass will be by the St. Elizabeth Seton Choir with Mary Ross as Organist. Lector for the Mass will be Blake Stork.  Gift bearers will be Kaitlin Metzger, Josh Greiner, Brody Greiner, Haley Stork and Jon Benson.  Eucharistic Minister will be Lori Danner. Casket bearers will be nephews: Blake Stork, Darrin Stork, Blair Danner, Brady Danner, Mitchell Borkowski, Noah Borkowski, Grant Borkowski, and Justin Winnett.   Burial will be at the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
Visitation will be held at the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday where there will be a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be held at the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. on Thursday prior to the Mass.

Lyle was born on May 25, 1962 in Carroll, IA, and he was the son of Loras and Charlene (Bluml) Stork.  He grew up on his family’s farm north of Glidden and graduated from Glidden – Ralston High School in 1980.  He attended Iowa Central Community College in Ft. Dodge and earned a degree in Farm Management.  He returned to Glidden and worked with the family farming operation, L. Stork Farms.  Lyle was married to Joy Streeter at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Glidden on August 15, 1992.  The couple made their home north of Glidden.  Lyle was very active with Glidden FFA Alumni, Glidden FFA Fun Days, the Carroll County Fair, and he was a member of the Lincoln Club.  Lyle was a cattle farmer at heart and loved all things farming.  He was a proud member of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and he enjoyed fishing.
Lyle is survived by his two daughters: Kaitlin Metzger (Josh Greiner) of Boone and Haley Stork (Jon Benson) of Waukee; a grandson Brody; his mother Charlene Stork of Glidden; three sisters: Lori Danner (Kevin) of Glidden, Lisa Borkowski (Dave) of Carroll, and Leslie Winnett (James) of Woodward; his brother Lynn Stork of Glidden; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lyle was preceded in death by his father Loras Stork, brother Lee Stork; a sister-in-law Joleen Stork, and a nephew Zach Stork.
