The Manning Parks and Recreation Department officials have announced plans for some City Park improvements. The committee is working on details regarding playground equipment and a park layout, including a new play unit to replace the current equipment. A fundraiser for all ages will be hosted to help raise money for the new equipment. The event is on Thursday, July 14, at City Park from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Food will be served for a free-will donation, and the Hillside Splash will be open for free use during the event. The cost of the project is $250,000, and individuals can support the project in numerous ways by sending or dropping off a donation at City Hall or placing a bid on a silent action item.
