The State Baseball Tournament Is Set To Return To Carroll On Monday

The 2022 Iowa High School class 1A and 2A State Baseball Tournament returns to Carroll starting Monday. Parks and Recreation Director Chad Tiemeyer says Carroll will be busy with people pouring in from all over the state on Monday and Tuesday. Tiemeyer adds he is expecting some pretty good crowds.

He says parking will not be a problem as they will first fill the spots by the stadium and expand from there.

Tiemeyer says they will have a couple of hundred additional seats added to the already existing seating available at Merchants Park. He adds they have a complete list of volunteers to help with this year’s state tournament.

He says having the tournament back in Carroll is enormous for the city, and we could see upwards of 10,000 people coming to Carroll.

One local team will participate in the state tournament this year, Kuemper Catholic. They are slated to play on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. against the number one seed Van Meter. Tickets will only be sold online, and Tiemeyer says you can check out the City of Carroll’s Facebook page or the Rec Center page to buy tickets. Again, the tournament gets kicked off Monday in Carroll at Merchants Park.
