The City of Templeton and Templeton Rye Distillery are partnering this weekend to bring live music and entertainment to town to raise funds for a new concession stand at the community’s ballpark. According to one of the volunteer organizers, Stan Romey, it has been nearly a decade since Templeton last hosted a Music Festival, but city leaders opted to bring it back to support proposed improvements at the field.
The Templeton Music Fest begins at 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 23 outside of the Templeton Rye Distillery on Rye Street. Admission is $5 per person, and Romey says they have a great lineup in store for music lovers.
Romey adds they will have a beer garden and food vendors available for attendees to purchase beverages and a bite to eat throughout the show. Blacktop is expected to play until 11 p.m. Saturday night with the rest of Music Fest shutting down around midnight. He says people can also take advantage of tours being offered at the distillery, or they can join the motorcycle run planned for earlier in the day.
Registration for the Templeton Rye’d is $20 per driver and $10 per passenger, which includes free admission to the concert. All proceeds generated from Saturday’s festivities go towards the construction of a new concession stand at the Templeton Ballpark.
