The United Way of Carroll’s largest fundraiser of the year is coming up later this week, and organizers are inviting residents to join them for a bite to eat while supporting local causes. Executive Director Jen Munson says they are taking a page out of 2021’s grill-out and will again host it at the Piranha Club from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3.
Meals are $9 each and include a hamburger, chips, cookie, and a drink. Chad Tiemeyer, a United Way of Carroll board member, says the annual grill-out is easily the largest fundraiser they host.
The United Way of Carroll was proud to announce earlier this year they were able to provide funding to 100 percent of the organizations that applied for funding in 2022, including daycare centers, the Carroll County Nest, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Sioux City, Community of Concern, and others. They’ve upped their goal for next year and are hoping to provide up to $35,000 to groups needing additional funding. Munson says they are also partnering with Thrift World during Wednesday’s grill out.
Again, the 2022 United Way of Carroll Grill Out is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at the Piranha Club. Volunteers are also offering deliveries for orders of six or more, but the deadline is at 5 p.m. this evening. Simply call 712-292-5671 or email unitedwayofcarroll@gmail.com.
