Carroll Fire Department Responds To Two Fire Calls Wednesday

The Carroll Fire Department responded to two fire calls yesterday (Wednesday). At approximately 3:15 p.m., crews were dispatched to the intersection of 220th Street and Kittyhawk Avenue about two miles southwest of Carroll for a reported vehicle fire. According to Chief Dan Hannasch, a Mazda G6 had ignited and severely damaged the vehicle. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze quickly and spent around 30 minutes at the scene. The other fire occurred around 6 p.m. in the 1200 block of N. Grant Road for a small brush fire that had gotten too close to a residence. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished before spreading to nearby structures.
