Earlier this week, the St. Anthony Regional Cancer Center received its second substantial donation from a local bank. Three staff members from the United Bank of Iowa (UBI) delivered a $2,132 check raised during UBI’s “Cause Days.” Twice per month, staff can wear jeans and a Cause Day t-shirt to work in exchange for a donation to the selected charity. Marla Keating suggested the cancer center after hearing of the struggles experienced by some of the patients there. Across UBI’s 35 offices, employees raised $1,132 with a $1,000 matching donation from the bank for the St. Anthony Friendship Fund. Last week, Iowa Savings Bank donated over $3,000 that they raised during a summer bake sale. A photo of UBI’s donation can be found included below.
