Storm Lake Police Offices arrested a Lakeside Man On Sunday For Multiple Warrants Out Of Buena Vista County

A Lakeside man was taken into custody yesterday (Sunday) on multiple arrest warrants by the Storm Lake Police Department. According to authorities, at approximately 1:26 p.m. Sunday, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the 700 Block of Cayuga Street in Storm Lake. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male subject identified as 25-year-old Idris Keyanye. Authorities determined Keyanye had several Buena Vista County warrants and took him into custody without incident on three counts of unauthorized use of a credit card, an aggravated misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, public intoxication, and third-degree harassment, simple misdemeanors. All of those charges stem from failures to appear in court. Law enforcement says Keyanye also possessed approximately 29 grams of marijuana at the time of his arrest. After Keyanye was booked, authorities found crushed pills concealed in his socks, later identified as clonazolam, and charged with possession of contraband in a correctional institution, a class D felony. He was also taken into custody on another Buena Vista County warrant charging him with willful injury causing bodily injury, a class D felony. The charge stems from an incident on August 16, 2021, where law enforcement was called to the 700 Block of Erie Street for an assault. After the investigation into the incident, officers alleged Keyanye engaged in a physical fight with another adult male knocking him out and kicking and punching the victim while he was unconscious. Keyanye remains in custody at the Buena Vista County jail on a  $13,600 bond.
