Construction begins next week on the $7.35 million Carroll Recreation Center renovation and HVAC improvement project. Parks and Recreation Director Chad Tiemeyer says their patrons should expect potential disruptions at the facility for the next year or so.
According to Tiemeyer, there are two main sections to the construction work. The first is an overhaul of the nearly 50-year-old building’s HVAC systems.
The other part of this project is an extensive overhaul of the facility’s interior, which includes locker room improvements, a raised walking track in the gymnasium, and more.
The project’s contractor, Badding Construction, estimates work will be finished no later than October 2023, barring any unanticipated delays. Tiemeyer says they hope to avoid reducing services whenever possible by moving class dates, times, and locations. Still, it may be unavoidable at certain points.
Tiemeyer adds they will be posting weekly updates to the Rec Center’s Facebook page about where contractors will be working and what services may be impacted. Again, Tiemeyer thanks patrons for their patience and understanding during this project.
