Carroll County’s Leann Baumhover has been named the 2022 Outstanding 4-H Leader. The Successful Farming/Loren Kruse Outstanding Iowa 4-H Leader Award is presented annually to an adult volunteer who has encouraged, challenged and inspired Iowa 4-H members to reach their fullest potential. Baumhover was honored at the Iowa State Fair on August 21. Baumhover says she had no idea she was even up for the award.
For most of her life, Leann has been a part of the 4-H community by serving as a leader, mentor, judge, and so much more. Baumhover’s love for 4-H began when she started judging static exhibits in the early 2000s. Baumhover says she has done so many things through the 4-H programs that she is truly honored to receive this award.
Baumhover adds that an honorarium comes with the award every year, and it is a $1,000 gift she can give back to the 4-H Program.
Baumhover was nominated for the award by a former 4-H member who she mentored at a young age. A picture of Baumhover receiving her award can be found included with this story on our website.
