The final Stone Pier Summer Concert Series of 2022 will be held this weekend in Lake View as the community transitions out of the busy summer season. Beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 4 at the iconic Stone Pier, 49 Winchester and special musical guest, Gabe Lee, will be putting on the last free concert of the year. Attendees are reminded to bring along their blankets and chairs to enjoy what should be a near-perfect weather forecast to spend the evening outdoors. The Lake View Fire Department is once again grilling pork burgers and hot dogs for fans as they continue raising funds to purchase a new equipment bus. While numbers are not finalized yet, city officials report it appears the community saw another year of many visitors to Black Hawk Lake. Gauging by the record-high revenues from Camp Crescent this year, Labor Day will be bustling as Iowans head out for the last major camping weekend. Community leaders invite local families to join them on Saturday, Sept. 3 in downtown for the annual Chalk the Walk sidewalk art event, which runs concurrently with the final Lake View Farmers Market of 2022 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
