Construction has officially wrapped up, and a new Pickleball court in Lake View is now open to the public. The court is located in Speaker Park, and City Administrator Scott Peterson says a citizens group drove the project.
Construction on the court got underway in July and was broken into multiple parts. Peterson details the overall total.
In the fall, there are plans to add some amenities to the court, such as lighting, sidewalks, and shaded structures. With the amenities added, the project’s overall cost would go up to approximately $94,000. Peterson adds the addition of the Pickleball Court adds another activity for individuals to enjoy while at Speaker Park. He says there are no other plans for future advancement at the park.
