The Lake City Council has scheduled a special meeting for later this week to hold a closed session for discussions on a pending legal matter involving the city. City leaders will convene at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 at the Lake City Community Building under Iowa Code 21.5(1)(c), “To discuss strategy with counsel in matters that are presently in litigation or where litigation is imminent where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the position of the governmental body in that litigation.” City officials could not provide additional information on Thursday’s closed session, but the agenda indicates formal action is possible when they return to open session.
