Lake View Schedules Hydrant Flushing For Sept. 19-21

Lake View officials are reminding residents they may experience low pressure or discoloration in the water system beginning Monday as the city starts its semi-annual hydrant flushing procedures. Lake View opens hydrants regularly to increase flow rates in the water mains to dislodge any particulate buildup that may have accumulated, potentially leading to rust-colored water. While the red-brown water does not pose any risk to humans or pets, it could stain clothing if laundry is running when this occurs. Flushing is scheduled for Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 19, 20, and 21, in the community. If water discoloration occurs, residents are advised to turn on taps in their homes until the water runs clear. Questions about the process can be directed to Lake View City Hall at 712-657-2634.
