The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education responded to a previous complaint about reading material within the district. Amy Dea addressed the board in late August and again at the Monday night meeting. Dea says she talked with Superintendent Dr. Casey Berlau, and he was unaware of the books being in the school. Dea adds she intended to make the board aware of the books and wants to know who is reviewing them. Board President Cindy Johnson read the district’s response to Dea’s concerns.
Johnson stated the steps Dea would need to take to ensure her voice is heard. The first one is to talk with the building Principles. Johnson stated that the board will go over this topic as an agenda item when they convene next. Full audio from this portion of the meeting can be found included with this story on our website. The board will convene next for a work session on Monday, October 3.
