Two juveniles have been charged with felony burglary and assault due to a weekend incident in Storm Lake. According to the Storm Lake Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home in the 700 block of W. 8th Street at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday for a belated assault report that had occurred earlier in the day. The juvenile victim told officers they had been assaulted by a juvenile male outside their home around 11 a.m. The victim returned to their home later in the day to find missing electronics and clothing. Following their investigation, law enforcement charged an 11-year-old male with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and assault, a simple misdemeanor. A second 11-year-old male was also charged with third-degree burglary for his alleged involvement. Both juveniles were issued referrals and released to a parent pending an appearance in juvenile court.
