Kevin William Dillavou, age 70, of Carroll, IA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Regency Park in Carroll surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Central Church in Carroll with Pastor Ryan Gallegos officiating. Casket bearers will be Bill Vaughn, Wayne Morris, Mike McCaffrey, Alan Perry, Kasey Lau, and Ricky Snyder. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday evening. The casket will be moved to Central Church at 9:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M.

Kevin was born on September 5, 1952 in Iowa City, IA, and he was the son of Willard Amos and Gladsome Pearl (Williams) Dillavou. He grew up in Scranton and attended Glidden High School. Kevin worked several construction jobs following high school. He was married to Ruth Fowler on June 28, 1974 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll by Fr. Tiedeman. Kevin and Ruth lived in their home on Adams Street their entire married life. Kevin was employed over the years by: Andrew’s Roofing, Briggs Plumbing and Heating, Farmland Foods, and he retired from Carroll High School in 2018. He attended Central Church in Carroll. Kevin enjoyed old time music, riding his Harley Davidsons, going to car shows and working on old cars, and attending rendezvous with his Black Powder friends. He also enjoyed gardening and camping, but most of all spending time with his family and friends especially spoiling his grandchildren.
Kevin is survived by his wife Ruth of Carroll; daughter Amy Dillavou (Lucas Clark) of Carroll; two sons Troy Dillavou of Mississippi; son Eric Dillavou (Rebekah) of Deltona, Florida; five grandchildren: Elizabeth, Perseis, Kasey, Lelani, and Trinity; a brother Fess Black of Scranton; and in-laws: Bill Vaughn of Nashua, Vicki Dillavou of Grand Junction, Paula Dillavou of Lakeside, CA, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father Willard Dillavou; his mother Pearl Black and her husband Elmer; his father and mother-in-law Harold and Irene Fowler; brothers: Gene Dillavou, Lloyd Dillavou, and Alvin Black; a brother-in-law Larry Fowler; and a sister-in-law Kelly Vaughn.
