Volunteers with the Carroll Fire Department will soon be hitting the streets of the community selling tickets for their sole annual fundraiser, the Fireman’s Dance. Chief Dan Hannasch says 2022 is a special year for the department, as they will be celebrating the 100th edition of this community tradition.
The Carroll Fireman’s Dance is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 and will be back at the Carrollton Event Center after a two-year hiatus. Brad Ruhnke, a volunteer firefighter, says they are excited to be back in person this year.
They’ve scheduled Dirt Road Divide, a band based out of Jefferson, to provide live music during the event. Ticket sales begin on Friday for $2 each if purchased in advance and bump to $2.50 if purchased at the door on Nov. 5. Firefighters will be traveling door-to-door in October selling tickets. If dancing isn’t your thing, they’ve also set up a Venmo account, @Carroll-FireDept, as another way to donate. Carroll firefighter Jon Bruner says all money raised goes directly back to the department.
Firefighting gear and equipment can be expensive, and materials purchased with donations cut back on funding requests to the city each year. Again, the 100th annual Carroll Fireman’s Dance is scheduled for Nov. 5 at the Carrollton Centre. Tickets are available from any of the department’s volunteers. Donation information can also be found included below.
