The first and only debate between Iowa’s Republican incumbent Chuck Grassley and retired Navy Admiral Mike Franken for Iowa’s U.S. Senate seat begins tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. The hour-long debate will be broadcast live on Iowa PBS, iowapbs.org, YouTube, and Facebook. The candidates will answer questions from reporters regarding their platforms, issues facing Iowans, and more. Iowa Press Host and Radio Iowa News Director Kay Henderson will serve as debate moderator, and Cedar Rapids Gazette Political Reporter Erin Murphy and Des Moines Register Political Editor Brianne Pfannenstiel will assist Henderson on the panel. Recent poll numbers from likely voters show Grassley holding an approximately four-point lead over Franken a month out from Election Day.
