The City of Lake View is nearing the end of a housing grant program that helped develop homes within the community. The development came through a Community Development Block Grant (GDBG), and City Administrator Scott Peterson says they were awarded this grant a couple of years ago.
The program was owner-occupied, so the houses are not on the market. Peterson adds after receiving the grant, they worked with the Region XII Council of Governments.
Peterson adds there could be more rehab projects in the future, and Lake View is one of the last communities that use this program. The next Lake View City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 17.
