In August, parents in the Glidden community were given a new option regarding childcare services. Childcare in rural Iowa has been a problem for a while now, and some blame can be attributed to the COVID-19 Pandemic, which forced many providers to close their doors. In Iowa alone, more than $953 Million is lost annually because of the shortage of childcare facilities. Yesterday (Thursday), organizers and donors to the Lil Wildcat Education Center hosted a ribbon cutting to open a new provider in Carroll County officially. The education center is committed to excellence and providing a good customer experience while taking pride in the quality and integrity of staff and facilities. The center also is dedicated to caring for and educating each child and family under care. Organizers say the center would not be possible without the grants they received and the many donors like Pella Corporation.
According to a nonprofit organization, Child Care Aware, the average monthly cost of full-time daycare in the U.S. in 2020 was around $850. Individuals wanting to learn more about the Lil Wildcat Education Center can visit the link included with this story on our website.
