The Carroll City Council is scheduled to convene Monday for their next meeting. Officials will open with a proclamation recognizing firefighters and the beginning of Fire Prevention Week. City Manager Mike Pogge-Weaver says the council will move on to discussions regarding the search for a new city manager following his resignation earlier this month.

Monday’s agenda does include the possible appointment of an interim city manager. If the council chooses this route, the selected individual would likely take over following Pogge-Weaver’s last official day with the City of Carroll on Nov. 3. Officials will also consider a quote for rehabilitation work at one of the city’s water wells.

The quote from Layne Christensen Company of Valley, Neb. estimates the project’s cost at just under $45,000. Pogge-Weaver says the city council will also continue discussions on the proposed Adams Street reconstruction project and its impact on residents.

Preliminary recommendations to the council suggest sanitary sewer lines under the pavement be replaced unless constructed from PVC, ductile iron with ceramic epoxy lining, or vitrified clay with sealed joints and no visible root intrusion. As for water lines, lead service lines and galvanized pipes from the water main to the stop box are recommended for replacement. Other items on Monday’s agenda include the second reading of proposed parking restrictions on Birch Street, and ATV/UTV ordinance discussions. The council convenes at 5:15 p.m. at Carroll City Hall.
