Carroll County Supervisors To Host Public Hearings On FY23 Budget Amendment And Courthouse Remodel At Monday’s Meeting

The Carroll County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to meet Monday after a two-week hiatus. Their previous meeting was canceled due to a lack of agenda items. The Oct. 10 agenda includes secondary roads updates from County Engineer Zac Andersen, a Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 budget amendment hearing at 9:30 a.m., and a resolution for the destruction of records from the November 2020 election. The supervisors will open a second public hearing at 10 a.m. on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of costs for the courthouse renovations and HVAC improvements project. They will close the meeting with a closed session under Iowa Code 21.5(1)(i), “To evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session.” The agenda does not indicate the board will take any formal action once they return to open session. The board of supervisors convenes at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10 in the supervisors’ meeting room. The full agenda and details on how to attend remotely can be found included with this story below.
